Common furnace problems we fix

If your furnace is doing any of these, we can usually fix it the same day.

Furnace won't ignite

Bad ignitor, dirty flame sensor, or failed gas valve. Most fixed in one visit.

Blowing cold air

Flame sensor, pilot, or gas supply. We test the actual cause before quoting.

Short-cycling on/off

Overheating, dirty filter, bad limit switch. Catch it before the heat exchanger cracks.

Loud bangs or pops

Delayed ignition — dangerous. We clean burners and check gas pressure same day.

Carbon monoxide alarm

Stop using it. We do full combustion analysis and heat exchanger inspection.

Won't reach setpoint

Undersized, leaky ducts, weak blower. We measure airflow and find the bottleneck.

Furnace Repair FAQ

How much does furnace repair cost in San Antonio?+

Most San Antonio furnace repairs run $149–$795 depending on the part. Flame sensor cleaning is $149–$229, hot-surface ignitor $189–$320, gas valve $385–$585, control board $385–$795. The service call itself is FREE — you only pay if you green-light the repair at the written price we quote.

Why won't my furnace turn on?+

On the cold mornings we see across San Antonio, no-heat calls are almost always one of four things: a dirty flame sensor (the cheapest fix), a cracked hot-surface ignitor, a failed gas valve, or a control board fault. We diagnose it in about 20 minutes and quote the actual broken part — never a full 'system rebuild.'

Is a cracked heat exchanger dangerous?+

Yes. A cracked heat exchanger can leak carbon monoxide into your home and is a shut-it-down-today problem. If your CO alarm has gone off, you smell anything odd at the vents, or you've got soot around the burners, turn the furnace off at the thermostat and call us. We do a full combustion analysis and inspect the exchanger with a camera before recommending repair or replacement.

How do I know if I have a gas furnace or a heat pump?+

Quick check: peek at the indoor unit. If there's a gas line running into it and a flue pipe going up through the roof, it's a gas furnace. If your outdoor condenser runs in the winter too (not just summer) and there's no gas line at the indoor unit, it's a heat pump. Not sure? Send us a photo of the indoor unit and we'll tell you for free.

Do you charge for the furnace diagnostic?+

No — the diagnostic is FREE. We come out, find the actual broken part, and give you a written price before any work starts. You only pay if you decide to move forward with the repair.

What furnace brands do you repair?+

All of them. Carrier, Goodman, Lennox, Trane, Rheem, York, American Standard, Bryant, Amana, Day & Night — if it heats your house, we work on it. We stock common ignitors, flame sensors, and capacitors on the truck so most repairs are a one-trip fix.

How fast can you come out for no heat?+

Same-day across the greater San Antonio area — usually within 2 hours during business hours, and we run late through cold snaps until everyone has heat. Your call rings Clint's phone directly. No call center, no dispatch fee.
